Vietnamese Company to Modernize Airports of Turkestan and Kyzylorda

With the support of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST," a Memorandum of Cooperation signing ceremony was held in Astana between SOVICO Group and Akimats of Turkestan and Kyzylorda regions with the participation of Chairman of the Vietnamese group of companies Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hung, First Deputy Akim of Turkestan region Zulfuhar Zholdasov and Deputy Akim of Kyzylorda region Ardak Zebeshev. The cooperation is aimed at modernizing and further developing the infrastructure of the airports of Turkestan and Kyzylorda.

The Chairman of SOVICO also said that the group of companies is considering the possibility of increasing the frequency of flights from Vietnam to Kazakhstan. Moreover, the group is interested in developing the country's trade and logistics potential, particularly on the territory of ICBC Khorgos. The initiative involves the warehousing and storage of goods produced in Vietnam and ASEAN countries for subsequent sale in Kazakhstan, Central Asian countries, the EAEU and Europe.

KAZAKH INVEST Industry Executive Azizkhan Kudabekov noted that the signing of these documents indicates the intention of the Vietnamese conglomerate to participate in the development of regional airports, including as cargo and passenger hubs and ports of aircraft of the Qazaq Air airline, owned by SOVICO. The implementation of this initiative will have a positive impact on the level of development of the domestic ground-based air transport infrastructure, which is the primary basis for the development of the entire civil aviation industry.

SOVICO is one of the largest diversified conglomerates in Vietnam. The group's main areas of activity include aviation, real estate, banking and finance, energy, technology, and digital systems.
