KMG, Air Liquide discuss bilateral cooperation in Paris

As part of the President’s state visit to Paris, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC KazMunayGas Askhat Khassenov met Director General of France’s Air Liquide Francois Jackow to discuss the prospects for the bilateral cooperation in technical gas production.

The companies are implementing a key project on construction of a hydrogen production unit at the Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant. With a capacity at 12,500 cubic meters per hour, the unit is expected to increase the output of light oil products and manufacture winter diesel fuel. The project is implemented through LLP Air Liquide Munay Tech Gases, a joint venture of KMG and Air Liquide.

Being a global leader in technical gases production and control, Air Liquide offers advanced solutions in optimizing the work of the units at the Atyrau Oil Refinery and Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant in terms of energy efficiency increase and carbon footprint reduction.

According to Askhat Khassenov, KMG is ready to cooperate with Air Liquide on mutually beneficial terms to ensure reliable supplies of technical gases to increase diesel fuel production.

At the end of the meeting, the sides confirmed their intention to develop long-term partnership and speed up the construction of the new unit at the Pavlodar.

Established in 1902 in France, Air Liquide has been a global leader in production of technical gases.

LLP Air Liquide Munay Tech Gases is a joint enterprise of Air Liquide and KMG established in 2016. 75% of the company’s shares are owned by Air Liquide, and 25% belong to KMG.
